This is absurd, absolutely and unquestionably wrong. The Tea Party is apparently trying to get any references to slavery removed from history textbooks in Tennessee. I know slavery was a horrible practice, but I’m proud we were able to abolish it. I just don’t understand trying to force us to delete anything in history that might make us look bad.
If we remove slavery, let’s also claim that African-Americans and women always had the same rights as white men. We can say whatever we want, we’ll be the real life version of this comic strip from

    what what what what what.

Not okay Right-wing America, not okay. Unlike facebook photos, you can’t just go around “untagging” the bits you don’t like.

That is ridiculous… Who comes up with these ideas? Who was bold enough to suggest doing such a stupid thing?

I hate the tea party. The far right is always way wrong.

Truly incredible. Not just that someone thought it, but that they said it, and people presumably supported the idea! Something is badly wrong when this is an acceptable action.

Scary indeed! The past centuries have shown us that any society that tries to hide and rewrite its history is heading in a direction where democracy is at stake. But of course you won’t know that if you don’t know your history… Thanks for checking out my blog!!
