Neil Gaiman Presents…

25 Jan

I’m a huge fan of audio books and of Neil Gaiman, which is why I was thrilled when I learned that Audible has offered Neil Gaiman (Author of American Gods and Good Omens) a record label so he can produce an audiobook versions of books that he loves.
This looks like a great little project and I’m currently downloading The Minotaur Takes a Cigarette Break as I type this post. I look forward to seeing more great books brought to us by this titan of modern fantasy.

I love it too, unfortunately he isn’t the narrator for all of these books. I think he just decides what gets made and who narrators them. Still I think it is a great little project.

I enjoys Neil Gaimans writing too – more and more as time goes on. But this is a bit weird, as they are books selected by him, not read or written by him. Is it the cult of the celebrity author? Is Neil the new Oprah of the literary world?

For now I’m happy to accept Neil as the new literary Oprah.
